Actually…

Despite what I’ve said in the past and how I felt in the past, I’m starting to get really excited to have this baby. I think a lot of the hesitation I felt with Katie (I felt unprepared and unaware… and nervous! I’d never had a baby before!) is pretty much gone. Now I’m just excited to watch another baby grow like I’ve watched Katie. it’s completely bitter sweet.ย  We’re still thinking on names, not completely set, though we are leaning towards one that the Ballerina suggested, simply because we thought it was cute, and well, we’re cute people. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Still on a desperate hunt for middle names. I’m wanting to keep the Japanese middle name alive, which sounds completely STUPID as Scott and I are white as white can be (both of European decent) but people have thought I was asian before (why? I don’t know.) so I like to pretend in my mind sometimes. LOL.

Life has been busy and hectic. My workload has… quadrupled, unfortunately. So it doesn’t leave alot of time for blogging and chatting and being… sociable. So if I ignore your chat or something it’s because i’M trying desperately to focus on the customer. We’re hoping that things will settle down for us eventually. But if we’re busy it means we aren’t being fired. so that’s a good point. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Scott got a new car, which he loves. He misses his little red sports coup quite a bit, but at the same time it wouldn’t fit two carseats, so upgrade we must!

I better get back to it.

I suppose I should update…

Let me start off by saying that this month has been one of the best EVER. which is a stark contrast with some of the past February’s in my life. Valentines day has never been my favorite day ever… and this year Scott worked, but… well let’s do things in order.

First of all I got to attend my brother’s wedding. I have never ever before been able to attend a sibling ofย  mine’s wedding. (ETA, I’ve realized that this isn’t true, I attended Wudan’s wedding. That’s right. I’m a space cadet. I didn’t mean to be insensitive, I meant it was the first time I’d attended a temple wedding. Also, I was really immature and unmarried when Wudan got married, so I don’t think I appreciated it as much… if that makes sense? A wedding is a wedding is a wedding until you have one and realize how special and important it is being with someone who loves you. I love Sukie and Wudan, they had a beautiful wedding, and they love each other SO much it really does boggle my mind. They may not be smooshy like some couples, but I know they love each other, it is so evident in their manner…. but back to your previously scheduled program) So this was really special for me. It was a beautiful day. I am so happy for both of them. I’m so pleased! I wish I could find all the words and images to explain to everyone how beautiful and memorable the day ways. The Ballerina (as she’s called) was sweet and lovable, I’m so happy that she’s my Sister in law now. She’s very sweet and kind. She makes the Specialist VERY happy.

Then on Valentines day we took Scribbles and Katie to Kangaroo Zoo. Katie bounced and played and went down on the slides, she was having a great time. We went from there to the Ultrasound place in the mall. We had a gender determination Ultrasound, and got some pictures…. I’ll have to get Scott to scan them in. And we know for sure IT’S A GIRL!! I have seen a lot of ultrasounds and a lot of double checking on Katie, so I know what a girl looks like on ultrasound now days. Scott says the baby is HUGE, but we didn’t get any measurements taken since it was JUST gender determination. a lot of people are wary of Mall stores that do ultrasounds, but mine was performed by an OBGYN, he was nice too.ย  We’ll be going back in on March 3 to my regular OBGYN to get another Ultrasound, in case anyone is skeptical. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Since Katie is going to be a big sister, we got her a big girl bed. She’s been sleeping in it for a few nights, and everything has been going really well. She got Hello Kitty Sheets, and she ‘s in love. Scott tells me though that she wanted to get some “Cars” sheets. She’s in love with that movie. She has seen it at least 4 times today.

Since we weren’t able to do anything too romantic on V-day, Scott has set up for us (at some point, he won’t tell me, because it’s a secret) to go to a B&B for some time away. Scott got a flat screen monitor for his computer (how terribly romantic, right?? I’m like that.) which he’s excited about so he doesn’t have to haul his heavy monitors to LAN parties. Scott finally confessed to me that in addition to the night out at the B&B he has also commissioned a custom necklace to be made for me. It has my birth stone as well as scott’s and Katie’s birth stone in it. I’m excited.

So many exciting things now days.

Baby names

We don’t have any. OK. we don’t have any we agree on. What an update right? Scott likes Tycho Li for a boy and has no names for a girl. I have a passel of boy’s names I like that Scott hates (a passel being three apparently: Emmett LaMar,ย  William Alexander, Gabriel Tycho) or at the very least really dislikes. I like older sounding names that can be shortened. Emmett doesn’t really fall in there, but William to Will and Gabriel to Gabe. I also like Other names like Wesley and Levi, but have no coordinating middle names for them.

As far as girls names go, we are pretty uninspired. I like Brynn Leigh. But I don’t like Brinn Leigh. Which is purely aesthetics. I know, spelling shouldn’t matter, and for that matter why two ‘n’s? why not just one? I don’t know. I like the way it looks. Another name I really like is Petra, as well as Kara.

Scott has been stubborn about talking about names. Apparently my doctor won’t let you try an ultrasound prior to 20 weeks, so I’m SOL until later next month. I’m so jealous. Scott and I are antsy to find out. Mostly me. I’m such a planner that I want to figure out which way I need to go… Do I need to plan for a bunkbed, or just a Big girl Katie bed? I definitely need to get her a “I’m the big sister” shirt. ๐Ÿ™‚ OY! Crazy.

Last night as I was waiting for an appointment I saw a little boy running around. He looked like he was probably around 15 months or so. He was cute. I realize I’m not dreading having this baby, I’m dreading going back to having A baby. Where they can’t talk to you, and they can’t tell you anything. I was getting so used to Katie’s ability to tell me yes or no or even specifically what she wanted for lunch. It is so nice (In exciting Katie news, she ate a whole corn dog for lunch without any extra goading. YAY!) I’m not looking forward to going back to the vomit and the crying and the late nights and middle of the night stuff. BUT, time marches on and just like Katie, our new baby will get older.

Hopefully he’ll get older with a name that I like.

PS: Scott would like me to add that he thinks the name Emmett LaMar is Ugly. I would like to add that I think it flows well, and that Scott is a dork. LOL. Just kidding. How about this? We both toss out the boys names the other person doesn’t like. So you can drop Tycho Li and I’ll drop Emmett LaMar. OK?

Once and Future King

BEHOLD!

I want to get a BUTT load of this fabric. I want to make cute little …. things? out of it? for my baby! Well that is, if my baby is a boy.

WE know nothing yet in the direction of what is what in reference to a baby. ๐Ÿ˜› I don’t know when we’ll know. Hopefully sooner rather than later. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Happy Birthday To me

So. Having a birthday on a sunday sucks. SURE you’re almost pretty much (and very definately at my workplace) guarenteed the day off (YAY For that) but it’s a sunday, and if you’re religious and are in a fairly religious family and have fairly religious friends… well it sure makes the day kinda blow chunks. Scott got me some AWESOME geeky amigurumi patterns. I love researching and working on crochet. The odd thing. I don’t know how to crochet. I have stupid hands. I’m pretty handy at knitting, I just need to buckle down and figure this out. I want to make some cute things. PLUS, I have a lot of cute yarn to use. I would like to make a slime first. The look like this:

Also if we have a little boy I want to do his room with dragons and knights and such… I think it’ll be cute. One of the patterns he got me was for a little dragon, so i’m excited. Hopefully I can work on getting some of these done! ๐Ÿ™‚ Cute!

DQ (who is living in our basement now, yay!) gave me a pudding of hers for a present, which she says is a crappy present, but I say, it’s not. I was pleased. Scott and DQ really let me have it easy yesterday … which was nice. I was doing my 24 hr urine collection. I have to say, not the funnest thing to do on your birthday, but life goes on. I just need to turn that in. We watched a lot of How I met your mother, my mom and my brother called to say Happy Birthday.  Then Scott’s family came over and baked a cake, and cooked dinner. I have to say Midori did a lot of work (as well as Lorna and Qwserty)  to make my birthday rock. We had pizza and a really yummy chocolate cake. Also Midori did a bunch of my dishes, which is awesome, because I was dreading them. It’s tough to get around to stuff like that, you know?

We had a good evening, and even played a little Monty Python Fluxx. I enjoyed it. Finally I was so flippin’ tired, I had to go to sleep. I drank a TON of water yesterday, I need to keep drinking because when I do go back to turn my sample in, i have to get blood drawn. ๐Ÿ™ I hate getting blood drawn. But, it’s a fact of life, that when you get pregnant, they pump blood out of you like republicans pumping oil out of alaska. HAHAH!

Katie has been completely pacifier free for weeks now. I am shocked, and somtimes I miss it. Like when she is being loud and I need quiet time.  or if she’s being grumpy and I need her to nap. She had quite the melt down yesterday, and spilt a lot of juice and spaghetti. it wasn’t a big thing. She just needed a nap really bad. I’m thinking the rocking chair needs to go back upstairs for when I have the next baby, but at the same time I’m thinking, maybe I can find a new one to get on craigslist or something. I love rocking chairs…. by which I mean recliners that rock. Sometimes you need to put your feet up and relax, and other times it’s nice to rock.  Hopefully things work out. Anyway. I had a good birthday, thanks to everyone for all the well wishing. ๐Ÿ™‚
