Work Rant

Now, you might be saying “Isn’t it kind of dumb to rant about work on a server your work place owns?” and the correct answer would be yest, in most cases.ย  However I’m not bitching about my employer, so much as some of the employees.

I work in a fairly small office. 2 bosses, 7 underlings (including me) not huge. and we all pretty much understand the rules of an office so small. You don’t step on toes, and you try to respect everyone and not leave anyone high and dry.

This year (2008) has been the year of “Screw you guys, I’m going on vacation” Now, there have been some legitimate cases of Vacation and sickness and what not, but it seems to me that when 4 people have a day requested off (in an office of 7) one more person shouldn’t jump on the boat. Well they do, and it’s really starting to PISS me off. My job isn’t hard, it isn’t challenging. it’s nice and simple. I LOVE my job. I just think there should be some solidarity among co-workers. A kind of “no man left behind” thing. I don’t know. I have spent my fair share of nights working alone on the 5-7 time period. it’s not HARD to do the job alone, it’s just ANNOYING to do it alone.

And it would be nice that if I’m the one left holding the bag because I’m dependible and stuff, that I could maybe take a day off or two by myself and not feel guilty. Maybe I would stop feeling so guilty about it if I weren’t so mad when other people took time off. RANDOM “LA-DI-DA” time off.ย  like “I don’t have a care in the world about any of my co-workers and the fact that they’ve covered my ass time and again when I have needed time off, or just damn well taken it.”

I’m not a selfish person, ladies and gentlemen, but it occurs to me, around this time of year, that the number of people who have my back over their own is startlingly low. I am a loyal diehard person.

Sometimes it would be nice if someone were looking out for me — instead of themselves…. since I apparently have too much guilt to look out for myself.

So great

It deserves to go right here, instead of on the christmas post….

Gentle folk, that is a BATH cupcake. What is a bath cupcake??

Each cupcake is handcrafted in the USA, using the highest quality ingredients to ensure a tranquil, blissful experience. Once you begin filling your tub, simply place the bubble bath cupcake under the running water. Let the sweet aroma melt all your cares away as the long-lasting bubbles hydrate your skin.

YUM! I want all three of these, the pictured one is Birthday cake, however there is also creamy vanilla and cotton candy at your local Bath and Body works. YUM YUM YUM.

Ok– back to your daily life.

STOLEN!

From Carebear’s blog, I”ll just be doing it for Katie. For now.

1- Where were you when you first found out you were pregnant? Home, In our Condo, back in the day.

2- Who was with you? No one, I tested alone Cause I”m a bit of a POAS whore. I love taking pregnancy tests. I have a problem
3- How did you find out that you were pregnant?ย  well, the weird thing is the line was faint, and so I didn’t really believe it was a “REAL” line,ย  So I guess I really believed I was pregnant when I saw Katie on her ultrasound at 12 weeks

4- What was your first reaction to finding out you were pregnant? nervous. I had a miscarriage before, so Scott and I were just nervous. It was hard to be excited.

5- Your Husbands reaction? Also nervous.

6- Who was the first person you told? I think technically (sorry mom) Lashes might have known first, I brought my pee tests to her house to look at. I was very nervous.

7. Did you plan to get pregnant? Yes. Katie was expected and anticipated.

8-Was everybody happy for you? I can’t remember, if they weren’t I’ve forgotten.
9- Did you go out and celebrate? No. See nervous-ness. We wanted to make sure there was going to be a whole pregnancy before celebrating.

10- Did you want to find out the sex? Yes

11- What was the sex? Girl

12-Did anyone throw you a baby shower? Yes, two.

13- If yes, who? Carebear, and then Sukie and my Mom ๐Ÿ™‚

14- Did you get any outfits at the baby shower that you just knew you werenโ€™t going to put on your baby?ย  If there was, it wasn’t because of the “cuteness” of it, it was more the time of year aspect, but one of them that I thought for sure she wouldn’t fit into, she did for winter! I was shocked! (though it was the winter the year after! LOL)

15- How much weight did you gain? 35 LBS ๐Ÿ™

16- Did you loose all of the weight that you gained?ย  Yes, and then No. Though it dropped off very quickly I’m starting to gain it back. At least I’m pregnant again.

17- Did you get a lot of stretch marks? Yesssssssssssss.

18- What did you crave the most? Mayo and lettuce (together and warm) and Marinara sauce on ANYTHING. (Potatoes and noodles mostly :D)

19- Did you crave anything crazy? Ice. I craved ice like crazy. I know now it’s because of PICA and the fact I was low on Iron.

20- Who or what got on your nerves the most?ย  I would say being HUGE. I like being pampered and saying “Oh I can’t do that.” Because I’m pretty lazy.

21- Were you married at the time? Yes

22- Did you have any complications during your pregnancy? Breech Baby! That’s about it.

23- Where were you when you went into labor? Labor!? What’s that!

24- Did your water break? NOPE

25- Who drove you to the hospital? Scott, at Five flippin’ AM! Sheesh!

26- Did you go early or late? 5 days early.

27- Who was in the room with you when you gave birth? Scott, two doctors, like five nurses and an anesthesiologist

28- Was it video taped? No Scott hesitated to do too many pictures too, he didn’t want to see me sewn up.

29- Did you have any drugs for the pain?ย  Kind a had to. I had a spinal block on my spine, Which was a tiny bit painful (just a bit) and some sweet sweet morphine after the surgery was OVER.

30-Did you go Natural or have a c-section? C-section, wouldn’t it make sense to ask this BEFORE all those other questions? Like up at 23? Whatever.

31- What was your first reaction after giving birth?ย  I was HUNGRY. Mostly because I hadn’t eaten in hours and hours, I also wanted to hold her, try nursing etc. But I was scared to hold her because i felt VERY noodly all over.

32- How big was the baby(s)? 8 lbs 3 oz, 19 1/2 inches

33- Did your Husband cry? I was pretty out of it, but I would say not at that moment. He’s cried plenty since. Mostly when he thinks about how much he wishes his dad could be there. PS, Scott did an excellent job of taking care of Katie for me, as I couldn’t get out of bed, KUDOS to Scott!

34- What did you name the baby(s)? Katherine Rei. which means Pure (for katherine) and Rei means Lovely. ๐Ÿ™‚

35- Did the baby(s) have any complications? They had to keep a monitor on her foot for a while, to be honest I can’t remember what for, because I was kinda hopped up on drugs.

36- How old is your baby today? 18 months ๐Ÿ™‚ She’ll be 19 months tomorrow though ๐Ÿ˜€

37- When is the next one(s) coming? >.< July 8, 2009 apparently.

38-If you could, would you do it all over again? Yes. Katie is a bright spot in our life. Sure some days life would be easier without her, to go and do things QUICK and fast– but I would miss her hugs and kisses, and even her stubborn, NO NO NO! [[Confidentially, she kissed my tummy this morning and it was adorable, I asked her if she was kissing the baby, and she got this indignant look on her face.]]

Pictures Galore and FHE

Katie is in the back of my mom’s car asleep after a hard day of shopping and a snack of chex mix

we look like we’re in an expressionist painting. Left to right, Scott, Me, Katie (I’m holding her) Jam Jam, Lorna, and Midori. ๐Ÿ™‚ It was FREEZING but we all wanted to see the lights anyway.ย  We had quite a bit of fun, except for when the annoying High School kids were singing songs that weren’t spiritual Christmas songs. IMO– I don’t want to hear rudolph the red nosed reindeer after coming off the emotional high of having my daughter watch the nativity story for the first time. Thanks a lot HIGH SCHOOL KIDS!!

Katie was nervous about being on the edge, but was having fun anyway. Midori was holding onto her, I hope Jam jam doesn’t mind, I cropped him out of the picture because of his expression, LOL.

This is by the reflecting pool downtown. I love this pool, it does GREAT pictures.

We tried to get Katie to look at the camera, but it didn’t work!!

The rest of the pictures are just me trying to be “artistic” or as artistic as you can be with a camera in your phone. they aren’t PERFECT, but hey, camera phone!

This was taken ON the reflecting pool, which is to say the image you’re seeing is the temple on the pool. You can actually see in the lower right hand corner the lights they float on the pool during winter. I looooooooove this picture.

This year they had a nativity on the pool in addition to the nativity they have next to the north visitor’s center. Really I think it’s great. I love nativities. This one was gorgeous. I wish I could take better pictures of it…. but I hope this at least inspires people in utah to go and see it!

More Nativity, I didn’t get any of this head on, but it was beautiful.

Beautiful! Don’t let my shotty camera work fool you, it’s crazy beautiful up there!

We had a very nice monday night, we actually started it off with dinner at Wendy’s. I don’t know if I’ve ever mentioned it but Wendy’s is the MOST yummy place ever. Seriously I love Wendy’s the most when PG. I have this thing about Mayo when pregnant. I love it. I would probably (don’t read this jen!) eat a mayo sandwich and be giddy about it.

YUM!

COLD!

We have lowered our themometer down to 65 in an attempt to keep our Heating bill down (HAHA!) and have been using our fireplace more and more. Mostly because it’s easier to burn boxes (from moving) and other cardboard and paper from around the house (as well as some wood the previous owners left behind.) It usually keeps the house warm for 4-5ย  hours at 70+ degrees. I appreciate the fire, and after getting our last bill, I nearly fainted. The main problem we encounter is that SCOTT likes to be cold (fans open windows) where as i like to be warm. So I have taken to dressing warmer (long sleeves, socks slippers etc) and dressing katie warmer too (since she tends to be with me on the warm v cold thing) It’s been an interesting time. Even though it’s only been 24 hours, It’s become clear I need to invest in some warm PJ’s for Katie as most of what she has now are summer Pj’s…

Also I’m going to do something my mom did when we were growing up, cover windows with plastic to keep the warm in and the cold out. We have no curtains (Sadly) and no curtain rods either, so I we don’t have ANYTHING keeping the heat in!

UGH. But it’s nothing horrible.

I did my glucose test yesterday. The Lab people told me I might fail because I ate breakfast (UGH, I don’t enjoy the thought of doing a 3 hr test… four blood draws too! UGH UGH UGH!) but it was just eggs. They took 6 vials of blood and I was there for … I’d say an hour and a half. I had to get all the admitting paperwork done. I felt weird, every one else (all the other pg women) were like 24-28 weeks, and I was there to take the same test … 9 weeks. Oh well.ย  I Hope everything turns out ok. I have been working really hard on keeping myself unstressed. I’m being extra non confrontational. I nearly exploded when Scott told me he was scheduled to work Christmas, especially since he worked last year and a lot of holidays this year. (and last year for that matter) Luckily Frik fixed it and found some one to take Scott’s place. Which I really appreciated– Scott had to work last Christmas, it was quite depressing for me, I dont’ like being alone on Holidays, but Everyone else was with family, and while i could have stayed in SLC but there wouldn’t have been anyone to take me home.

we’re going to a baby blessing (wahoo) today, so I need to wake Scott up shortly, and get Katie dressed, as well as myself. it’s going to be an interesting afternoon. ๐Ÿ˜€
