Opinion Poll
So, as I’ve made full aware, we are having two girls. I have been thinking A LOT about this baby’s blessing since Katie’s had so many problems :S
Anyway… My question is does this baby get her own blessing dress, or does she share with Katie. I am a proponant of sharing it. However Scott raises the issue of “Who gets the dress later?” Most Ladies so far have said I’d keep the dress and they’d share it as they get older…
But I’m morbid and say “who gets it when I die?”
So what do you think?

I think its whatever you want to do. You could get one for each and display them, if you’d like. Or they can share, and say “all the heppler girls have worn this dress” which would be pretty cool too.
Grant’s gma makes all the girls their own dress, so we’ll do the individual ones.
initially i was a fan of sharing, but the more I think about it the more i think it’d be nice for all of them to have their own dress… but, for my daughters, i would like to do something special with their dresses… not sure what, but something to make the second dress as special as the first daughter’s dress (since Squirt’s was my dress when I was a baby)
I know someone who had theirs made from the train of the mother’s wedding dress. Thats a pretty cool story!
Hmm, While a good idea Amy Lee, I don’t fancy the idea of chopping up my dress. Mostly because I was saving it in case they wanted to use it later. 🙂
I’ve heard the wedding dress thing too (and I could make SEVERAL blessing dresses out of my wedding dress!), but something about cutting up my wedding dress makes me sad. I know I won’t ever wear it again, but I love that dress!
Anyway, I’ve thought about this too, and I’m thinking I’ll have separate dresses for each girl, that way I can give them their dress someday. I have my blessing dress (and Mariah even wore it once before she got too BIG!), and it’s a neat thing to have. However, I can also see how it would be cool to have all the girls in the same one.
My mom made my wedding dress and then when Eryn came along, she made a blessing dress out of the left over material. That way I still had my wedding dress and a blessing dress for Eryn. When Shawna came along she altered the dress and made it a little bigger so that she could wear it. I have no clue who’s going to get it when I die. Maybe one can have my wedding dress and the other one can have the blessing dress.
